Chevron - Egypt Ministry of Petroleum
Methane and Decarbonization Study Tour

The Chevron-sponsored Methane and Decarbonization Study Tour brought together emerging leaders from Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and its subsidiaries for an immersive week of technical discovery, knowledge exchange, and international collaboration. The Bilateral Chamber was pleased to support Chevron in the development and delivery of this important initiative, helping connect participants with leading U.S. expertise, technologies, and real-world applications.
The experience bridged classroom concepts with field applications, providing practical insight into methane regulation and modeling, advanced detection approaches, and innovative emissions-reduction technologies. For Egypt, the program strengthened institutional and technical capacity as the country works to reduce methane emissions, improve operational efficiency, and advance the decarbonization of its energy sector. For Chevron, it provided an opportunity to share global expertise and best practices while deepening its longstanding partnership with Egypt and supporting the development of the next generation of energy leaders.
Together, the program demonstrated the value of public-private collaboration in translating shared emissions-reduction goals into practical knowledge, stronger capabilities, and lasting partnerships.
