MES plans more schools and colleges in Gulf
The Muslim Educational Society (MES) that has been instrumental in bringing about an educational revolution among Muslims in the south Indian state of Kerala intends to establish a number of CBSE schools and other educational institutions in the Gulf to cater to the needs of Indian families. A decision to this effect was taken during a meeting of MES officials chaired by its President Dr. Fasal Gafoor, said E.P. Ubaidulla, general secretary of MES Jeddah Committee. “We as a reputable educational organization have plans to establish schools, and art and science colleges in Saudi Arabia, following the rules and regulations of the Saudi Higher Education Ministry,” he said. Saudi King approves setup of electronic university in Riyadh
Saudi King Abdullah has approved plans to establish a world-class electronic university in Riyadh, which will provide intensive courses to help prepare Saudi students for roles in business and industry as well as research and development. Saudi Arabia to construct sports facilities at girls' schools
The Saudi Ministry of Education has allocated 30% of new sports halls projects to girls' schools in different regions of the Kingdom for the first time since the launch of public education in the country. Zayed Foundation provides funding for Palestinian college
The UAE's Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation has funded the construction of the Faculty of Nursing and Optics in the An Najah National University in Palestine. The opening of the new Dhs20 million ($5.4 million) faculty building will enable the university to give admission to thousands of students to study a number of specializations in medicine, midwifery, nursing, pharmacology and optics.
