DFI pours $89bn in 17 Arab countries in 2008

The Arab Investment and Export Credit Guarantee Corporation (AIECGC) said that foreign investment inflow into the Arab world climbed to $89 billion last year, up from $74 billion in 2007. A report by the AIECGC gauging foreign investments pouring into 17 Arab countries in 2008 confirmed the above. However, a recent forum organised by the AIECGC in Beirut highlighted the need for concerted efforts to develop investment climate in the Arab region.

Average annual household consumption expenditure: Dh135.300

Statistics Centre-Abu Dhabi (SCAD) released a report on household consumption expenditure in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The results of the Household Income and Expenditure Survey (2007-2008) revealed that the average per capita expenditure amounted to approximately Dh24,700; nationals spent Dh29,900 yearly on average, against Dh25,200 for a non-nationals and Dh12,000 for members of collective households.
